Pop Quiz Team Trivia
"Bringing Trivia to the Old Timer has been the
best business decision I've made in the last ten years. It has
taken our slowest night
and turned it into our second busiest night!"
-- Brian McNally,
The Old Timer
Pop Quiz Team Trivia is the ideal event for a business outing,
school assembly, or just a party. The two-hour game is the ultimate
icebreaker, creating discussions and teamwork between friends and
strangers. It is amazing how people get excited about what they
know, and the thrill of competition.
The participants break into
teams. They are given score sheets, answer sheets and pens. The
quiz master explains the rules, asks
a question and plays a song. Often, the song will correlate to
the question, or answer.
Question: "What was the claim to
fame of Louise Joy Brown? July 25, 1978"
Song played: "She's
a beauty" by The Tubes (1983)
The teams have the length of
the song, less than four minutes to negotiate an answer and how
many points to bid. At the end
of the
song, the answer sheets are brought up to the scorekeeper and
the host announces; "She was the first test tube baby." The
crowd goes wild and we move onto the next question.
There are
twenty questions, broken into four rounds, with score updates
in between.
The teams with the most points win the prizes, which
the organizer provides. Gift certificates, t-shirts, dvd/cd's,
or cash make
good prizes. There should be something for everyone on the
team.
There is also a ten question, one-hour version of this
game. It's a great way to start a night of dancing. The trivia
host uses a
complete sound system, and is also an accomplished disc
jockey.
We are available most days and nights of the week. Prices
and availability will be furnished upon request. For
more information,
please call,
email or check out one of the weekly trivia games in
the area.

- Team Trivia DJ hits right notes
"Question 1 in the Education Category: What Nashoba Regional
School District administrator is the undisputed king of team
trivia in Central Massachusetts?"
- Trivia Night has all the answers

people pit their knowledge of pop culture and academia against
each other in a game for points and money prizes - with maybe
a pint or two along the way. Worth investigating, I thought."
- Trivia hits two years and 100 games
"If you haven't had a chance to play Tuesday Night Trivia
at the Old Timer, you're missing a good time. You don't have
to be a genius to participate. The questions are all over the
map, and you'd be surprised what bits of useless knowledge are
in your head. What was the name of the band that Kenny Rogers
was in? First Edition. Why do I know that? It doesn't matter,
that's the point of the game."
- Ugly Tuna Trivia
"If it's a Tuesday night, I can usually be found playing
Tuesday Night Trivia at the Old Timer in Clinton. Trivia Master
Joel plays cool music while asking the questions, and teams
of up to five people have the length of a song to come up with
an answer. Each of the 20 questions is assigned a point value,
and the goal is to garner the most points."
- Pub trivia combines drinking, thinking
It's 10 p.m. at Mary Ann's on Beacon Street, and a Boston College
senior is slumped over a table, clutching his head in one hand
and a Bud Light in the other. But he's not drunk. He's thinking.
The Jackson Five's "ABC" is playing in the background,
and everyone in the bar is struggling to figure out what the
four, single-letter motion picture ratings were in 1968.
